September 20, 2008: Radisson grows from Freehold Gardens

FREEHOLD, NJ (September 20, 2008) – The newly renovated Radisson Hotel held its grand reopening this week.

The hotel, formerly the Freehold Gardens Hotel, was acquired by an affiliate of Hotels Unlimited Inc. in May 2007. The hotel reopened as the Radisson this past April and held grand opening celebrations on Wednesday, now that most of the renovations are complete.

The Radisson has 121 newly decorated rooms and suites, including four bridal and six junior suites, said Carey Tajfel, co-president of Hotels Unlimited.

Hotels Unlimited is based in East Windsor and owns nine hotels in New Jersey in Florida, including the Holiday Inn and Ramada hotels in Toms River, the Holiday Inn in Tinton Falls and the Holiday Inn Express in West Long Branch. The company has plans to open a Hilton Garden Inn in Lakewood and a Holiday Inn Express in Neptune.

The rooms now have an earth-toned decor. They are designed by Carver Associates in Georgia, Tajfel said.

The five-story hotel at 50 Gibson Place is just a few minutes away from the Freehold Raceway, Freehold Raceway Mall and CentraState Medical Center, Tajfel said.

Each room features a 32-inch flat panel LCD televisions; Select Comfort Sleep Number beds; a large work desk; adjustable lighting; complimentary HBO, CNN and ESPN television stations; on-demand movies, games and music; in-room safe, iron, hair dryer, coffee maker, miniature refrigerator; and microwaves are available upon request; voice mail service; and room service, Tajfel said.

The hotel has an outdoor pool, as well as a 24-hour business center with two computers and Internet access and remote printing.

Guest can do late night or early business in the office, she said. There are six meeting rooms with over 8,500 square feet of space, and wedding packages have complimentary valet parking.

The hotel’s restaurant, the Winner’s Circle Restaurant and Lounge, is currently being renovated and should be finished this fall, Tajfel said.

The Crystal Ballroom is a banquet facility. The room holds up to 300 guests for events. The Emerald Ballroom is a smaller room that can be rented for private parties.
